The conference will take place in the AC Hotel Oviedo Forum, a four-star hotel located near the city center and next to both the train and bus stations.
How to get to Oviedo
There are three ways of arriving to Oviedo
- By plane: The airport of Asturias is located 40km away from Oviedo. It has international connections with several national and international airports. From the airport, you can reach Oviedo by bus for 9 euros or taxi (about 50 euros during the day, 70 euros at night).
- By bus: the bus station is close to the city center. The bus trip from Madrid takes about 5 hours. Information on the connections can be found at the website of Alsa.
- By train: the train station is in the city center, not far from the bus station. The trip by train from Madrid takes around 4.5 hours, and that from Barcelona about 9 hours. You can find more information about the train connections at the website of Renfe.
Both stations are 5 minutes from the conference venue, the AC Hotel Oviedo Forum.
Surroundings
Oviedo is the capital of the region of Asturias, in the north of Spain, and it is a perfect place for nature activities. In the space of an hour you can go from beautiful beaches like Rodiles, Torimbia or Gulpiyuri to the mountains of Picos de Europa. It is also part of the Camino de Santiago.
The first sunday in August the international kayaking competition Descenso Internacional del Sella takes place. It is also possible rent a kayak and go down this river on a different date.
Last, but not least, any visitor of Asturias should visit the Sanctuary of Covadonga, a picturesque religious place built in the middle of the mountains.

The conference will take place at the AC Hotel Oviedo Forum. The Hotel provides a special offer for conference attendants:
- €80 per night from July 10 to 15, 2023, in a single room (buffet breakfast included).
- €88 per night from July 10 to 15, 2023, in a double room (buffet breakfast included).
